V Aims of this lesson
1. To help the students understand how subtitle writers work and what is behind their success
2. To help the students understand the attitude of Japanese people toward subtitles and dubbing
3. To encourage the students’ interest in English by learning about the work of subtitle writers
4. To familiarize the students with new words and phrases
5. To expose the students to as much English as possible
VI Aims of this period
1. To help the students understand the difficulties in writing subtitles and why subtitle writers must be ‘creative’
2. To familiarize the students with new words and phrases
3. To give the students as many chances to listen to English as possible
4. To encourage the students’ interest in English
