When Queen Elizabeth II died, many British people were sad, but not shocked.

エリザベス女王（２世）が亡くなりました。多くの英国人は悲しみましたが，これは誰もが予期していたことでした。

We have known for a long time that she was aging rapidly and her health had been declining since the passing of Philip, her husband.

夫のフィリップ陛下が亡くなってから女王が急速に老化し，健康状態が悪化していたことは以前から知られていたからです。

Personally, I’m not necessarily sad of her passing, as I believe the future of the UK should not have a monarchy.

私自身は，英国の未来において君主制が続いていくべきではないという考えがあるので，彼女の死を一部報道されている人たちのように酷く悲しんではいません。

Also, I am ashamed of the actions of some of the royal family members in recent history.

また，最近の歴史における一部の王室メンバーの行動を恥じています。

However, I do believe Elizabeth did her job well as the head of state, and representative of our country.

しかし，女王は国家元首として，そしてイギリスという国の代表として，彼女の役割を精一杯果たしてきたということに対し敬意を表します。

She had over a 70% approval rating from the public, went through many shocking and difficult times in her life, and supported our nation through war, economic collapse, and international turmoil.

女王の国民からの支持率は70%を超え，人生で多くの衝撃的で困難な時期（戦争，経済崩壊，国際的混乱）を通じ，イギリスを強く支えてきました。

Surprisingly, she was never supposed to inherit the crown, yet took the heavy burden that came with it in grace.

She knew what she could provide to our country, and rarely overstepped her mark.

His majesty, Charles III, the King of England - certainly has big shoes to fill.
